Wellness in Texas

Texas Cooperative Extension (TCE), which strives to provide outreach, continuing education and services to the people of Texas, is seeking volunteers for their Wellness in Texas program. Volunteers will be provided with 40 hours of training in health and nutrition education and in return, the volunteers agree to give back 40 hours of service through TCE in Collin and Denton Counties. Service opportunities include giving presentations, assisting with cooking schools, passing out information and a variety of other service opportunities.

Time: Mondays, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Crisis Line Counselors

CONTACT Crisis Line, which offers free, 24-hour telephone crisis prevention and intervention, information and referral, is looking for volunteers to train as counselors on their phone lines. They ask counselors to commit to two 4-hour shifts per month, or a total of 8 hours.
